CROSSWAY WORSHIP COLLABORATIVE

Continue to pray through the weekend for several of our worship leaders who are gathered together in Tacoma to seek the Lord for a vision for music worship in our churches and throughout the Network. Here’s the sum up:

Last year was full of a lot of things we could potentially put in the “negative” column (though we’ve all seen God work in amazing ways). But one huge positive has been seeing these three new gifted worship leaders join the Crossway family through some of our first hires from “outside” the Network. AND…they quickly connected with each other to explore a vision for worship music, training, and song writing through collaboration as family. We join their churches in a wholehearted (and belated) welcome to Ryan Knight (Summit Christian Fellowship), Nick Cistola (Mountain View Community), and Chase Nation (Windsor Community).

Here’s what the leaders at Summit Christian Fellowship in Tacoma wrote in their weekly newsletter about this weekend:

“We’re really excited about some of the collaborative work that’s been happening across the Crossway Network we’re a part of. One of those collaborative initiatives has been a growing partnership between Crossway worship leaders. This week three of those leaders will be coming out from Colorado for a strategic planning time and song writing retreat. This Sunday we’ll get the joy of having them lead us together in worship in our Sunday morning gatherings! Pray God bears much fruit across our network churches through this trip. Thanks to Ryan Knight for his hard work in putting this together.”

So we’re asking everyone across the family to continue praying through the rest of the weekend:

  1. Pray that God would give us wisdom and insight as we consider how to best include and develop worship leaders in the Western Region and through a combined Pastors and Leaders Institute (PLI).
  2. Pray that the Lord would use his word to inspire songs that encourage our churches and bring him glory.
  3. Pray that God would develop meaningful relationships on this trip that serve as a foundation for future collaboration and creativity throughout the Network.
  4. Pray this weekend for God to do what only he can do in bringing three men together with different experiences and backgrounds to bring about vision and clarity with what he wants to do through music within our churches and as a network.

Praise God for this effort and for what God may do to impact and serve all of our worship music ministries. Exciting possibilities ahead! These three men and a team will also be leading us in worship at this year’s Crossway Huddle.
