Christ Church Celebrates One Year!
Well, the first year of Christ Church has been a wonderful one. We are a church in the small
town of Elizabeth, Colorado and we’re seeing God do some encouraging things. One of the most
encouraging things is seeing so many families becoming a part of what God is doing. We’ve heard from several families that being part of this plant was the highlight of their year. What a joy!
The first year has also been a bit of wild ride. We have had so many visitors in such a short time.
Some come for a couple of weeks and then leave, and others come once and we never see
them again. Some have come and been excited at first and then left after discovering that we
are set in our vision and values. The turnover has been a little bit dizzying and at times
discouraging. But through it all, God has been steadily growing us with committed families. Despite these common church planting “ups and downs,” our gathering peaked at a little over 120 people in November. This exceeded what we expected in the first year.

Every member of the plant team is being stretched in good ways as we invite our neighbors and
friends to church. Praise God that many have come and continued to come. Some families re showing incredible “ownership” as they invite many to join us week to week. It has been such a joy to see this heart.
We also preached through the book of 1 Corinthians and Ecclesiastes. It made for some dense sermons, but also yielded a lot of spiritual fruit through our teaching labors.
Please Pray with Us!
We are continuing to pray for open doors for reaching young families in the community. There
are so many young families out here that we want to connect with, but only the Lord can open
these doors. Additionally, you can pray that we would be diligent in continuing to invite families
that have come once or twice and are interested still, but not necessarily committed. Finally, please pray for a worship pastor. For the first year, I have been preaching and leading music most weeks. It’s a joy to do both, but also a lot to carry. It would be great to find a pastorally minded man who is gifted in music and shares our philosophy of worship. Thanks for Praying!
